In this seminar, we explore seminal work on the empirical and philosophical basis for Embodied Cognition as a program for understanding learning and instruction, particularly for abstract concepts in mathematics and science. We'll look at the role of the body, manipulatives and objects, gestures, and spaces as they impact learning and instruction.
